Back to Normal

Daphne Osena-Paez quoted it best when the very first thing she posted was asking this question:
How is everyone coping with "back-to-reality"?

One of the hardest thing to do is having to show up at work after a long holiday vacation. It's equally harder to come off from a period of happiness and relative relaxation to face stress again head on. It is the most difficult thing to do if you live here in the Philippines to show up at work and not having to hear those darn Christmas songs that you heard from September to December then all of a sudden not hear it. That's when you know fun time is over.

The holidays are officially over. I say that because at this point everyone is back to being their grumpy old selves. They threw away that kid in them and braced themselves for another tough year. People are chopping again their Christmas trees and dismantling that decoration they placed for the whole barangay to see and to brag that they're rich. The funny thing is that they don't even know what's coming up for 2009 and they say already this year will be difficult.

So start counting now, 348 more days before Christmas. 11 more months before your next 13th month pay. :)
